A conversation. Not a commitment.

Sometimes the hardest part of seeking support isn't recognising the need for change. It's knowing where to start.

You may have spent some time exploring The Pathway.

Perhaps you've recognised something of yourself in what you've read, or simply wondered whether things could feel different.

You don't need to know exactly what you want to do.

You don't need to choose a therapy or decide which approach suits you.

You don't need to decide what happens next.

The Discovery Experience is simply where our conversation begins.

Your Discovery Experience is a private, no-pressure conversation with me.

It's an opportunity for you to tell me, in your own words, what has brought you here.

We'll explore what has been happening, how it has affected you, what you would like to change, and, importantly, what you would like life to feel like.

Some people arrive knowing exactly what they want to work on.

Others simply know:

“I don't want to keep feeling like this.

”Either is enough.

There is no perfect way to explain what you're experiencing, and you don't need to arrive with all the answers.

You don't need to select the answer

Perhaps you've read about hypnotherapy.

Perhaps the CONTROL System has caught your attention.

You might be interested in coaching or mentoring.

Or you may have absolutely no idea which approach, if any, would be suitable.

That's okay.

The Discovery Experience isn't about asking you to choose your own therapy.

My role is to listen carefully, understand what you're experiencing, and begin exploring with you what kind of support may be appropriate.

Sometimes a particular approach may be sensible.

Sometimes we may draw on different ways of working.

And sometimes our conversation may help us recognise that The Pathway isn't the right next step for you.

What matters isn't fitting you into an approach.

It's understanding you first.

We'll have a relaxed conversation about you.

Not simply the difficulty that brought you here, but the person experiencing it.

I'll want to understand what's been happening, how long it’s been part of your life, what you may have already tried, and what you hope could become possible if things began to change.

I'll ask questions to help me understand you better.

You'll have plenty of opportunities to ask me questions as well.

And if there’s something you haven't quite found the words for yet, that's okay.

You don't need to arrive prepared. You only need to arrive as you are.

Being heard comes before being helped

At The Pathway, meaningful change begins with understanding.

Two people can arrive, describing what appears to be the same difficulty, while experiencing something completely different beneath the surface.

Your experience has its own history.  Its own meaning.

And its own way forward.

What happens afterwards?

There is no expectation that having a Discovery Experience means you must start therapy.

If, after speaking together, we both feel that The Pathway could be an appropriate place for you to continue, I'll explain what I recommend and why.

From there, you can decide what suits you best.

You may feel ready to start.

You may want some time to think about it.

You may decide that although The Pathway feels right, now isn't the right moment.

Or our conversation may help us recognise that a different form of support would be more suitable.

All of those are valid outcomes.

The purpose of our conversation isn't to persuade you to choose The Pathway.

It's to help us understand what your path forward might look like.

If now isn't the right time

Choosing not to continue immediately doesn't undo our conversation.

Because something important has already happened.

We've met.

You know something about me.

I know something about you.

And if, weeks, months, or even longer from now, you decide it is time to revisit the changes you were considering, you already know where the door is.

You won't be returning to somewhere completely unfamiliar.

The relationship we've begun doesn't disappear just because today wasn't the right day to continue.

The door remains open.

Where the digital welcome becomes human

By the time you reach your Discovery Experience, our conversation may already feel as if it has begun.

You've encountered The Pathway.

Perhaps you've read A Welcome From Glen.

You've had the opportunity to understand The Pathway Experience.

And you may have spent some time in Find Your Way, exploring the aspects of your experience that led you here.

The Discovery Experience is where that digital welcome becomes human.

A real conversation between two people.

About where you are now.

Where you would like to be.

And whether I might be the right person to accompany you for part of the way.

When you're ready

You don't need to have everything sorted out before we speak to each other.

You don't need to know what help you need.

And you don't need to promise yourself that anything must happen after that.

You only need to feel ready enough to start the conversation.

If that suits you, I'd be delighted to meet you.

The Discovery Experience is complimentary.

If you're thinking 'I'd like a little more time to look around.'

If you're thinking 'I'm ready to begin the conversation.'
